10 Actual Ways To Keep Spiders Out Of Your House

0

10 ways keep spiders out of house

Finally we have answers for what might be one of the biggest unsolved questions EVER, how do we keep spiders out of your house?

Because let’s be completely honest. Nobody REALLY likes spiders. Even if they are completely harmless little things, nobody wants them hanging around inside their house…

Luckily (according to actual scientists!) there are 10 magical ways to keep them away…

1. Ladybirds. If you have a garden, position plants that will attract ladybirds as close as possible to the house. They will help keep spiders away from the perimeter of your home.

2. Mint them out! Spiders hate peppermint oil, so dilute some in water and spray it around the house. Make sure you keep it away from pets and people.

3. Get a pet *YAY*. Most pets, particularly cats, will chase anything that moves. But careful, if you have particularly venomous spiders in your home, they can harm animals too.

4. Keep your home as free from clutter as possible. Spiders love a heap in which to form a home out of sight. So dust regular and put all boxes and packages away quickly to prevent spiders from spinning a web. You should also immediately sweep away any cobwebs you find.

5. Perfume your home with cedar. It’s a natural smell but spiders hate it *evil laugh*.

6. Eat oranges and lemons. Spiders hate citrus smells, so having these in your house can be a deterrent.

7. Limit lighting. Spiders are drawn to light, and flies and moths are ideal spider prey, so turn any outside lights off if you can.

8. Stay clean and tidy around the exterior of your home. Spiders love things like piles of wood, old flower ports, and debris. If they form a home there, they are one tiny step away from moving in to your home itself!

9. Remove webs. Do this often! Remembering to check the corners of the ceiling and in corners of picture frames and mirrors.

10. You can make your own natural spider spray. To make the spray, mix a cup of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of oil, a handful of ground pepper and a teaspoon of washing up liquid. Use a spray bottle to apply, and always respray outside after rain. Apply it to places you know those creepy crawlies like to live, such as your bathroom, as well as spraying outside along windows and doors so spiders don’t want to come in!

They Put Two Abused Pit Bulls In A Room Together, But Who Could Guess This Would Happen

The worst part of animal abuse isn’t always the physical scars. Often it’s the emotional isolation that leaves the deepest and most painful cuts in a dog’s heart. They’re social and loving creatures, and to deny them that is one of the cruelest acts of all.

Some people think that dogs who suffered that kind of abuse are so damaged that they’re incapable of properly interacting with other animals and humans ever again. To to test this theory, animal rescue organization Hope For Paws put two recently rescued pit bulls in a room together, let them off their leashes, stood back and watched.

These two pit bulls had been isolated and abused their whole lives. Things didn’t get off to the best start. But watch what they do next.

Biker Saves A Badly Burnt Cat, And Now His Adventure Begins

Motorcyclist Pat Doody doesn’t look like the kind of person who would carry a tiny kitten inside his jacket.

However, we all know to never judge a book by its cover – and this story really is the perfect example of why we shouldn’t.

“I was coming back from Born Free in California, and we had made it to Nevada. I was at this truck stop getting gas, and this little guy just needed help. He was pretty badly burned, so I picked him up and tucked him inside my vest.”
Pat told Revzilla

Some evil b*stard had seriously abused this kitten and left it to die. Well, Party Cat (as it has now be named) is now having the time of its life.

Pat and his cat now travel up and down the country, enjoying each other’s company and generally just being awesome.

“He’s sort of living on the road until we get home. He’s been eating tuna fish out of those dry-foil packs you can buy, and his burns are pretty much all healed up except for the little spot on his lip. He’s so chill. He just hangs out in my vest when we get on the road. I’ve never met a cat so calm.”

Rock on, Party Cat.

Gin Made From Unicorn Tears Is The Most Magical Drink Ever

Unicorn Tears

Stop the press. Unicorns are real…and now we can drink their tears! Okay, maybe not, but this new concoction looks like it could be the real deal.

Tinted with shimmering (and completely edible) silver flakes, the Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur tastes of oranges, berries and maple syrup with a hint of spice.

The liqueur retails for $61.39 — a bit pricey, but that’s what happens when Firebox, the company that makes the gin, is forced to hunt down mythological creatures and trap their tears. Along with the tears, the drink also contains “100 percent edible silver pieces,” so think of it sort of like Goldschläger.

They didn’t hold back either, with makers want you to know that “many, many unicorns were harmed in the making of this beverage”.

But don’t freak out…it’s good for them to let it all out every once in a while, unicorns have feelings too!

Unicorn Tears

In addition to being 100% fabulous, it also contains 40% alcohol, so prepare to get a little tipsy…

And we lived drunkenly ever after*!

*Please live drunkenly ever after responsibly.

Mom Catches Her Letting A Cow In The House, But Her Excuse Beats All

If you are/were a parent of a small, growing child, then this video will hit home.

We’ve all had those experiences where we’ve caught someone in a lie, and we’re just waiting for them to admit the truth. But rather than confess, they continue to try and wiggle out of it. This little girl is one of those people.

Mom comes home only to see a live, breathing cow in her house along with her 5-year-old daughter. Rather than jump to conclusions, Mom gives her daughter a moment to come clean and explain why it would acceptable to bring a cow home.

Instead, the little girl tries her best to come up with a excuse, and the result is priceless.

How A Red Bandana Let Parents Know Their Son Was Hero

0

Welles Remy Crowther was just a kid when his dad told him to always carry a red bandana.

Welles

He was six, and his dad, Jefferson, give him a white bandana “for show,” and a red bandana “for blow.” The white bandana was to offer other people. The red one was to do his own business.

By the age of 16, Welles was a junior firefighter. Whether he was helping out with emergencies or playing sports, he always wore a red bandana under his helmet.

Welles Firefighter

He ended up as an equities trader in New York City. His office was on the 104th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He loved his job, but he told his dad that if he sat in front of his computer for the rest of his life he’d go crazy. He wanted to be an NYC firefighter.

On that fateful day on September 11th, 2001, the first plane hit. Welles called his mother and let him know he was OK. That was the last time she heard his voice. And, when the second plane hit the South Building, they knew their son was dead.

It wasn’t until the New York Times released an article featuring the stories of survivors of the attack until they learned something amazing about their son.

Welles handsome

The article stated that a man appeared to help, covering his mouth and nose with a red bandana. He helped people to the stairs, looked for a fire extinguisher, and encouraged people to help others. He saved at least a dozen people’s lives that day.

And when his parents read the article, they knew that their son was that man. They knew because of the red bandana.

Think E-Cigarettes Are Safe? This Guy Did Too, Until His Vape Exploded

It was a normal workday for James Lauria on July 29th, until he went out for his first smoke break. Lauria is a vape user, so he took his trusty e-cig outside and took a few puffs.

Then, the vape exploded.

The next thing he new, Lauria was in an ambulance, and the next thing he knew after that, he was in the hospital, after being airlifted to the University of Alabama’s burn unit. His injuries were severe.

in hospital

Lauria had first-degree burns on his hand, chest and face. He had burns on his cornea. The explosion caused a tooth to jam up into his gum and chipped another tooth. The explosion also blew a hole through the palate in the roof of his mouth. His neck and finger were also broken.

Six weeks after the accident, Lauria remained on a liquid diet and moved back home to live with his parents. Doctors plan to affix a prosthetic to the roof of his mouth in the hopes that the wound will heal.

The exploded vape is currently in the possession of the South Walton Fire and Rescue Department, the first responders on the scene. They are trying to figure out what made it explode.

Amazing Pink Dolphin Spotted in Louisiana

No, you’re not hallucinating. This pink dolphin, aptly named Pinky, was spotted in the Louisiana River over the weekend. AND, she might be pregnant with more pink dolphins.

pink dolphin

Captain Erik Rue of Calcasieu Charter Service in LA, first spotted Pinky in 2007 when she was but a wee pup. He was the one to spot her again over the weekend. And he thinks he spotted her with a male dolphin. Woo woo.

https://youtu.be/zycGvMuE6EU

Obviously, most dolphins are blue or gray. But in the Amazon river, pink dolphins are pretty common. They’re pretty much a freshwater dolphin, which might meant that Pinky isn’t a transplant, but in fact born in our waters.

Some scientists think that Pinky has a genetic condition where here veins are close enough to the skin that her blood makes her look pink. They’ll never know, however, unless they caught her and studied her, and it seems best just to let her be.
