This Nurse Was Shocked To See What Her Parents Had Done To Her. This Is Heartbreaking.

This one had me in tears.

What this young girl went through from her family was terrible, the worst thing that could possibly happen. In her final hours, she had nobody, but fortunately, she did not leave this world alone. When this story ends, you will have a renewed faith in the people in the medical profession.

Last night, my husband, a pharmacist, comes home and tells me this:

Today a nurse spoke at one of our meetings. She told the story of a four-year-old girl whom had been beaten until she was brain dead by her parents. It was her birthday.

She got in trouble for eating part of her birthday cake before her party. She had belt buckle imprints all over. Both of her parents were jailed, so she was alone in the hospital.

Her grandmother comes in. The nurse starts to update the grandmother on the little girl’s condition.

“Let me stop you right there,” the grandmother says. “When her parents brought her in, her mother had a purse. In that purse is my paycheck. I’m just here to pick that up.”

Because the little girl had no one, the nurse picked her up and held her when it was time to remove the ventilator. She sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. The room started to fill up. All the nurses and doctors on the floor crowded into the room, singing to the little girl as she passed away.

Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun; not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul.

She Was Homeless And Sleeping In Dirt. How He Helped Her Made Me Cry!

Smokie is without a home and literally living on the streets. She would come by Elvis Summers’ street looking for can donations. One day and idea came to Elvis to help Smokie in another way. For $500 he built her a tiny home, it may be small, but to Smokie it was a huge investment. Even the police are onboard with helping and as long as she moves her tiny home every 72 hours, they support her. One by one, we all can work together and help one another.

I’ve Used Several Of These Sayings, And Never Really Knew The Origin!

They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & Sold to the tannery…….if you had to do this to survive you were “Piss Poor”

But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn’t even afford to buy a pot……they “didn’t have a pot to piss in” & were the lowest of the low

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn’t just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and they still smelled pretty good by June.. However, since they were starting to smell . …… . Brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting Married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it.. Hence the saying, “Don’t throw the baby out with the Bath water!”

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof… Hence the saying “It’s raining cats and dogs.”

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That’s how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, “Dirt poor.” The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way. Hence: a thresh hold.

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire.. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme: Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old. Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, “bring home the bacon.” They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and chew the fat.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whiskey. The combination would Sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial.. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive… So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift.) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, saved by the bell or was considered a dead ringer.

And that’s the truth….

Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake
Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake

Who needs a Starbucks when you can get your coffee-chocolate fix in this creamy cheesecake? I’ve been making this cheesecake for many years now and it never disappoints. Everyone loves it (duh). Probably because it’s as much a feast for the eyes as for the taste buds!

Enjoy ~ Ellie

Makes: 1 (9-inch) cake
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 1 hour

Ingredients for Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake

For the crust

  • 160 grams chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs (we used Oreo cookies)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

For the filling

  • 3 (8-ounce) bars cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the chocolate layer

    • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted

    For the coffee layer

    • 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate for garnish

    Directions for Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake

    1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
    2. Make the crust: Combine cookie crumbs, sugar, and butter in a bowl. Stir until well combined. Press onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Set aside.
    3. Make the filling: In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat cream cheese on medium speed. Gradually add sugar. Mix until well blended. Add egg yolks one at a time, then vanilla; mix well.
    4. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites for about 5 minutes or until stiff peaks form (mixture should not be dry). Gradually fold egg whites into the cream cheese mixture. Divide mixture evenly between 2 bowls.
    5. Make the chocolate layer: Scoop about 1/2 cup of the cream cheese mixture from the first bowl and combine with melted chocolate. Pour chocolate mixture back into the bowl and gradually stir until chocolate is well distributed. Pour over the cookie crust. Set aside.
    6. Make the coffee layer: Combine coffee powder and water in a small bowl. Stir until granules are dissolved. Pour coffee mixture into the second cream cheese mixture; stir gently until well combined. Gradually pour over the chocolate mixture to create a layer. You can use a large spoon for this and gently place scoops of the batter on the sides, then on the center. Smoothen the surface using the back of a spoon.
    7. Place the pan on a baking tray. Bake in the center of the oven for about 1 hour or until it’s no longer wet but still jiggles when shaken. Remove cake from the oven and let cool completely.
    8. Make chocolate curls using a peeler. Garnish cheesecake with chocolate curls before serving.

TIP: When baking, place a pan with water on the side of the cake and another on the bottom layer of the oven. The moisture will help prevent the cheesecake from cracking.

Google started as a search company in 1998, but now it’s one of the biggest data collectors in the world. Everything you need, that you read, that you watch, how much you spend, where you’re planning to go – Google knows, and they know a lot.

But the questions are: Why does Google need this information? And how do they even collect this data?

Check out the infographic below from Conosco as we show you just how Google’s data collection systems work.

Bottom line: If you want to prevent Google from tracking you, then simply don’t use its services (Google search, Google Maps, Android, etc.), or stop worrying and get on with life.
