#12 A Bouquet Blooms
The floral bouquet used as a cover-up design is bold in size, and it certainly doesn’t show a hint of the old tattoo underneath! It could be that there’s more pigmentation to come in the future.
#11 The Prince who turned into a Frog
We can slightly see the old tat and name “Gene” in the new green area where frog sits, but this cover-up idea alone is brilliant .. you know it’s been flashed about to mutual friends!
#10 The Pharaoh
It makes sense to have the option to cover-up old tats because of fading and after they’ve grown out of favor. King Tut here is not only well done, but more exciting than what came before.
#9 Flora and Fauna revisited
Overall this new tat is a more balanced in color and design. It’s perfect when the old pigment has coloring that’s similar but lighter than the new.
#8 Incorporating an old design I
This is so clever! The old animal footprints really adds to the new tat and vice versa. The paisley elements are well done and almost look like fabric design. LOVE!
#7 No hint of “Justin”
She may have thought “Justin” would be “the one”, but fortunately his branding wasn’t permanent. “Justin” was covered and removed beautifully, just like in real life!
#6 Cover-up of a dark tattoo
The name, “Sparky” was done with dark ink, which makes it somewhat difficult to work with and cover-up. Although the results with the new tattoo turned out great!
#5 Day of the Dead revisited
We can’t see any trace of the old tattoo in the new cover-up! Perhaps parts of the old tat were lightened. Often “loading or packing white pigment” can lighten the old pigments by about 10%-30% after healing.
#4 The Hidden Dragon
Can you see the the tail of the old dragon within the new tattoo? It’s incorporated into the center of the circular green area.. that’s brilliant!
#3 A Butterfly become Animated
This is a perfect example of looking at an old tattoo and drawing a new one using shapes from the old design. The new Butterfly has much more character than the old.. you think?
#2 Flora not Fauna
This new cover-up is a impressively clean! There’s no hint of the old tattoo under the new one.. maybe there’s been some packing of white pigment.. Well one!
#1 Old Love Transformed
We wonder if the X-girlfriend had the chance to get a glimpse of the “new tat”.. it’s a statement that can’t be hidden! ..at least “Jennifer” is still smiling!
